The location

The apartment lies in the borough of Pankow, and old district of Berlin with a bourgeois tradition and an interesting and variegated history. Here, the movie, television and the thermos were invented, and the borough has always been home to many artists, actors and politicians.

The Wisbyer Straße runs along the borough boundary to Prenzlauer Berg, the cultural scene in Eastern Berlin with its bohemians and creative artists, the quarter of cafés, clubs, neighbourhood grocery shops, yuppies, punks and multi-cultural lifestyles.

The apartment

The apartment is situated on the first upper floor of a well-kept old building.

The room with the three beds contains TV, a fridge, a coffee machine, a wardrobe and a corner seating unit.

Use of kitchen and bathroom with bathtub is shared with the host family. Cooking should only be done after having talked with the hostess.

Public transportation

The tram stops directly in front of the door. It goes e.g. to the underground station Eberswalder Straße (U2) or to Warschauer Straße. You can also walk to the underground U2 within a few minutes. From station Schönhauser Allee you can catch three S-Bahnen city-trains (S41, S42 and S8).

You can reach by public transport:

  • the fairground, ICC in approx. 26 minutes; starting from station Schönhauser Allee by S-Bahn (city-train) S8 or S42 direction Gesundbrunnen to fairground
  • Zoologischer Garten in approx. 30 minutes; by tram (M13) to Osloer Straße, then take the underground (U9 direction Steglitz) to Zoologischer Garten
  • Berlin Mitte Alexanderplatz in approx. 16 minutes; starting from underground station Schönhauser Allee by underground (U2 direction Ruhleben) to Alexanderplatz
  • Airport Berlin Tegel in approx. 35 minutes; by tram (M13) to Osloer Straße, then bus no. 128 to Airport Berlin Tegel
  • Potsdamer Platz in approx. 28 minutes; by tram (M13) to Eberswalder Straße, then by underground (U2 direction Ruhleben) to Potsdamer Platz

Parking

You can park your car for free on the street. It can be sometimes a bit difficult to find parking, but it is not impossible.

Low Emissions Zone (LEZ) – LEZ stickers
The city zone (A) within the S-Bahn-Ring (city train circle) is part of the LEZ. If you want to drive with your car in the Berlin city centre, inform yourself here: LEZ stickers for tourists. This accommodation is located outside the LEZ. You can leave your car here and travel with public transport into the city centre.
