Be right in the heart of Berlin: Brandenburger Tor, Unter den Linden, Friedrichstrasse, Museumsinsel, Alexanderplatz. Berlin has a countless number of top tourist attractions located in the old and new city centre.
Potsdamer Platz, one of the middle points of Berlin, stretches out from between the areas Mitte and Tiergarten and can be viewed from the apartment’s window, about 600 m away. The Brandenburger Tor/Gate symbolizing the German separation and reunification, is Berlin’s most famous construction (about 500 m away from the apartment). The elaborate boulevard, Unter den Linden leads into Schlossbrücke (Palace Bridge). Every building has its own story to tell: the Humboldt-University, Bebelplatz, Staatsoper, Komische Oper, Neue Wache, Zeughaus, Kronprinzen Palace and many more. Opposite the Berlin Cathedral at Lustgarten and the grand ensemble of the neo-classical buildings on the Museum Island (recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site), lie the Schlossplatz (Palace square) on which the City Palace used to stand, but has been replaced by the Palace of the Republic.
Karl-Liebknecht Street develops into a boulevard, east of the Spree. Passing Neptunsbrunnen, St.-Marien-Kirche and the red city hall, you land up at Alexanderplatz. Enjoy a cup of coffee from the highest building of the city – the 365 m tall television tower, while taking in the cool, but impressive high-rise buildings that were and still are, the urban centre East-Berlin.
The elegant Friedrichstrasse invites passers-by to shop and browse through the boutiques and grand department stores. South of this, lies the original border control point, Checkpoint Charlie, and north lies Oranienburgerstrasse. Once a Jewish Quarter, this area has developed into a party mile where the gold-capped domes of the new synagogue dominate the area. Don’t miss visiting the lively cultural centre, Tacheles that has formed in the ruins of an elaborate shopping store. Exclusive and unusual businesses, chic cocktail bars and dark alley romances come together at and around Hackeschen Höfen, near tram station Hackescher Markt.
There is a chance of bumping into a prominent international politician around Schiffbauerdamm, near the German Theatre, Charité-Klinik and the new government district. For those looking for something a bit quieter, visit the famous Dorotheen City Cemetary, where important people like Hegel, Brecht or Berlins builder, Schinkel are buried.
Berlin Mitte, south of Unter den Linden / Karl-Liebknecht-Strasse, has a lot to offer: just behind the red city hall, the reconstructed Nikolai Quarter has retained the small-city charm of the 1800’s. Not far from the eye-catching dome of the St.-Hedwigs Cathedral, lie Schinkel’s Gendarmenmark – one of Europe’s most beautiful spots boasting a playhouse and German and French Cathedrals..

The apartment
This 30 m² modern designed attic apartment (9th floor with elevator) with a living/bed room is suitable for 1 or 2 persons.
Inside you will find a double bed (180 x 200 m), 2 armchairs with a table, TV and radio. A small table with 2 chairs in front of a window overlooking the berliner sky landscape offer a perfect spot for dining or working on a laptop.
Shelves for your clothes can be found in two commodes and in an open wardrobe with clothes rails located in the hall.
In the cosy kitchen with its view over the roofs of Berlin you can enjoy your breakfast on a bistro table. Here you will also find a cooking stove with 4 plates and an oven, fridge, coffee machine, electric kettle, toaster, a few pots etc.
The bath room has a bath tub with a shower curtain.

The transport connection is ideal.
It takes 10 min. by underground line U2 to get to the Zoologischer Garten station (Bahnhof Zoologischer Garten) or to Alexanderplatz. This line goes through interesting districts like Charlottenburg (Kudamm), Schöneberg and Mitte and then goes directly to Prenzlauer Berg.

underground line U6 brings you to the district Kreuzberg an within 3 min. to station
Friedrichstrasse from there you can switch to the S- Bahn, the tram or take a bus.
The stations next to the apartment are Mohrenstrasse (U2) reachable within 2 min. walk and Stadtmitte (U2, U6) in 3 min. walking distance.
