The guest room

This tastefully decorated room in Praunheim, north-west of Frankfurt, is on the 1st floor of a renovated family house in the famous and internationally acclaimed May-Siedlung in a Bauhaus style of the 1920’s. It is suitable for 1-2 people, has a queen size bed (120 x 200 cm), a useful desk, shelves with reading material, a comfortable leather armchair, a wardrobe and mirror, TV and coffee machine. The room has wooden floor panels.

The room has its own bathroom with toilet and shower, and a view of nature.

Wireless internet is for free. Use of the washing machine comes with a charge of €4. Bicycles can be rented for €10 a day.

This is a non-smoking room and smoking is not permitted. Pets are not allowed, as there are already a dog and a cat in the household.

The hosts speak fluent German and good English, French, Spanish and the local dialect.

The location of the room

The room is in the quiet suburb of Praunheim in the north-west of Frankfurt. There are many swimming pools in the area, including spa baths with saunas, mini golf, museums and galleries, a shopping centre, the historical May-Siedlung, a small theatre stage and various gastronomy offers.

The nearby green belt surrounding the river Nidda is perfect for those who would like to spend a day with nature. The Volkspark Niddatal is also here, where the National Garden Show in 1989 took place.

Bicycle excursions

Niddaradweg is just 4 minutes away on bike. This path leads to the north over Bad Vilbel, Karben, Wöllstadt through Niddatal to Florstad Ranstadt, Nidda and Schotten to Niddaquelle. Even the small towns have their own highlights to offer, like their shopping stores, varying cuisines, sightseeing and recreation possibilities (for e.g. century old mineral springs, a church from the 12th century, the Ysenburger Palace, Sauerbrunnen – the bubbling fountain with Roman mosaic pavilion in Kurpark Vilbel). Those who would like to ride further, can take the Hessischen long distance bicycle path R4 from Schotten, or take the Limesradweg from Staden.

Distances

In just a 3 minute walk, reach the U-Bahn-Station (subway) Heerstrasse. From here, the Hauptbahnhof (main station) Frankfurt is about 20 minutes away with public transport. The Comvention Centre can be reached in about 20 min. Frankfurt am Main airport is about 45 minutes away..

Payment by short notice bookings takes place on arrival. Otherwise, a 25 % pre-payment is requested.

Departure: Generally Mon-Fri before 9am

Breakfast is not offered, but guests can receive a cheap guest voucher for the nearby quaint art café.
