Right around the corner is Bernauer Strasse with its documentation centre of the Berlin Wall, the 'Mauerpark' with its vast trendy jumble sale. Nearby there is also the idyllic Arkonaplatz and numerous cafés, restaurants and bars (Kastanienallee and Zionskirchplatz).
The Mauerpark (Berlin wall park)
After the opening of borders and reunification of Berlin in 1989/90, the strip of wall on Schwedter Straße was quickly turned into a green space. In summer 1990 there were still a few border-control watch towers on the embankment, while next to it residents were already starting to set up camp on the grassland.

On Falkplatz, north of the Jahnstadion and east of the adjacent Mauerpark (Berlin wall park), is the site of a large sports hall, the 'Max-Schmeling-Halle' which was the venue of Berlin's candidature for the 2000 Olympic Games, home to various events as well as the home games of the German Basketball National League Club 'ALBA Berlin'. |

The 28 m² apartment for 1-4 guests is in the basement and is equipped with a double bed, (for four guests a camp bed can be provided), wardrobe, writing desk, DVD player and television.
The apartment has an American-style kitchen, a bathroom with shower, a washing machine, a
hairdryer and mini-bar. There is also an iron and ironing board.
The apartment is a smoking-free zone.
A child's travel bed is available if needed (bedding can also be provided). |  |
Additionally: bike hire (city bike with three gears for 10 euros per day)- the reception is found above a nearby café on Brunnenstrasse. Guests are entitiled to 20% discount at this café for the wide choice in breakfast menu. Guests are also welcome to use the WLAN/WiFi-netweork at the café free of charge.

For your booking a deposit of at least 25 % is necessary and 75 % in cash when you arrive. Only last minute booking: you pay 100 % when you arrive. .
