Munich Glockenbachviertel / Dreimühlenviertel

The suburb Glockenbachviertel / Dreimühlenviertel lies centrally, west of the Isar in the city centre of Munich. This Munich artisan quarter is, apart from Schwabing , the most loved neighbourhood of the city and is filled with breakfast cafés and restaurants , and bars and pubs offering a lively nightlife. Cozy taverns and beer gardens are also within walking distance.

The nearby Isarauen is perfect for a stroll, jogging, sunbathing and even a refreshing jump in the water.

The Munich old city (Sendlinger Tor and Marienplatz) is a lovely 20 minute walk away through the old southern cemetery, or 2 stops with the subway (from Goetheplatz).

In the heart of Munich you will find the old city hall, der alte Peter (Peter’s church) at Viktualien market with a wonderful view over Munich, the Frauen church, Hofbräuhaus, Residenz, the National Theatre and much more.

On arrival you can ask the host if the free city bike is available. In case that this is possible or if you need more than one bike you can rent a bike from Deutsche Bahn company.

Your private room

The light, quiet guest room is in a 70 m² stylish, sunny, non-smoking apartment on the 5th floor, accessible via a lift. The entire apartment has parquet flooring and central heating. The guest room is about 14 m² in size and equipped with a double bed (140cm wide), a night table, wardrobe, drawers, 2 chairs and a TV. Wireless internet is included in the price. The white tiled bathroom with a bath as well as the separate toilet are shared with the host.

Help yourself to coffee and tea in the living room / kitchen. The communal living room and the sunny west-facing balcony with a lovely scenic view are especially nice.

The washing machine can be used for free.

We regret that pets are not allowed.

The hostess

The hostess speaks German and English. She has been living in Munich for over 15 years and works part time from home, or is otherwise out of the house due to her job. If breakfast is requested, it can therefore, only be offered on short notice.

The price per room and night

Extra charge for only one night: 10 euro
Minimum stay for Easter, Ascension, Pentecost, Christmas, New Year's Eve: 3 nights
For guests who want to stay longer, every 7th night is free of charge.

For your booking a deposit of at least 25 % is necessary, 100% payment on arrival applies only to last minute bookings.

Parking

Parking in the city centre of Munich comes at a charge. Simply pull a parking ticket in one of the side streets or in the parking garage, or use the park and ride system outside the city centre.

Low Emissions Zone (LEZ) – LEZ stickers
The area inside the middle ring (city circle) of Munich is part of the LEZ. If you want to drive with your car in the Munich city centre and you do not have a sticker for the LEZ of Munich city centre, you can find information here, on how to get LEZ stickers for tourists.

The location

City centre: the Sendlinger Tor and Marienplatz are a lovely 20 minute walk away, through the southern cemetery (1800 m) or 2 stops with the subway (from Goetheplatz).

Theresienwiese is where the Oktoberfest (die Wiesn) takes places and is best reached on foot. It’s about 1300 m away or alternatively 2 stops with the bus.

The main train station is 4 stops away with the bus (14 mins). This is the starting point for a visit to the botanical gardens and Karlsplatz/Stachus.

The Isar – the “green lungs“ of Munich – is just a side street away. It’s perfect for long walks, jogging, sunbathing on the pebble beach or a refreshing jump in the cool water.
