The location of the holiday apartment in Cologne (Köln)

The holiday apartment is in a street with 4 to 5 storeyed houses on the right side of the Rhine in the suburb of Köln – Mülheim, just a few minutes away from the Rhine Promenade. A great Mediterranean fish restaurant is less than 100 m away, and another restaurant offering local food is within walking distance. Wiener Platz with its shopping centre: Galerie Wiener Platz (originally Kaufhof) is 500 m away and has many diverse shops.

The Rheinpark with cable car (rides from March to November from Rheinpark over the Rhine to Kölner Zoo) is a 20 min. walk away. It is a lovely walk from the apartment over the half-island at Mühlheimer Harbour to the Rheinpark. The park has a lot to offer, including a visit to the Rhine beach, simply relaxing amongst nature or the dancing fountain which regularly hosts musical concerts. Have some good food at the Rhine Terrace while taking in the view of the Rhine and the Cathedral while the sun slowly sets.

The Straßenbahn (tram) – line 4 and bus 260 will take you quickly to Cologne City. As an Exhibition Centre guest, you can reach the Centre in 5-10 mins. The entrance to the Centre lies on the same side as the apartment (Deutz Mülheimer Straße), irrelevant if you take the car or line 4. Cologne is full of worthwhile sightseeing spots … don’t miss out on the majestic Cologne Cathedral, where the spiralling walk to the top will be rewarded with a wonderful view of the city; or the Lanxess – Arena which has even caught the attention of world-renowned stars (a 5 min. ride away with line 4).

Description of the holiday apartment

This modernly decorated non-smoking apartment is 35 m² in size on the 3rd floor (without a lift) with a view of the courtyard. It has a double bed (140 x 200 cm) and a cozy sleeper couch (130 cm). There is also a small sitting corner for 2 people, a big wardrobe and built in shelves with a TV and radio. The small kitchenette is in the living / sleeping area and has all the necessary items (sink, 2 cooking plates and extraction hood, coffee machine, kettle, toaster, microwave and crockery). Coffee and tea are supplied free of charge.

The small bathroom has a shower, toilet, basin, hairdryer and iron. During long stays, you can gladly use the pay washing machine and dryer in the basement.

The accommodation is not suitable for small children. Pets are regrettably not allowed, out of respect to those guests with pet allergies.

The hostess

The hostess looks forward to greeting guests from all over the world and giving helpful tips on what to see and do in Cologne. For e.g., the Christmas markets are a must in December, especially the traditional stalls at Alter Markt. Your host not only speaks German, but also Dutch.

Breakfast is not offered but on request we will fill the fridge für 6 euro per night and person. Coffee and tea is available free of charge.

For your booking a deposit of at least 25 % is necessary, the complete payment at arriving only is possible for short-term bookings.

• Cologne main station in about 18 minutes: from Windmühlenstr. by bus 260 (direction Breslauer Platz) to Cologne Bf Deutz / Messe place and then continue with the RB25 (direction Köln, Hansa Ring) to Cologne main station
• Cologne airport in approximately 35 minutes from Windmühlenstr: by bus 260 (direction Breslauer Platz) to Cologne Bf Deutz / Messe Platz, and with the RE8 (Koblenz) and Cologne / Bonn airport
• Cologne fair in about 10 minutes: from Windmühlenstr. change with the Tram 4 (direction Breslauer Platz) to Cologne Deutz exhibition, without change
• Düsseldorf main station in about 38 minutes: from Windmühlenstr. by bus 250 (direction Solingen Graf-Wilhelm-Platz) to Mülheim Wiener space, then by bus 151 (direction porz) to Mülheim Bf, and then with the RE5 (direction Emmerich Bf) to Düsseldorf Hbf
• Messe Düsseldorf in 62 minutes: from Windmühlenstr. by bus 250 (direction Solingen Graf-Wilhelm-Platz) to Mülheim Wiener space, then by bus 151 (direction Porz) to Mülheim Bf, and then with the RE5 (direction Emmerich Bf) to Düsseldorf main station and continue by underground train (Duisburg Meiderich U79) to Dusseldorf Messe Ost / Stockumer Kirchstr.
• Dusseldorf airport in about 57 minutes: from Wiener Platz with the underground (U18 directions Buchheim Str Herler to BF, then continue with the RE5 (direction Emmerich BF) to the airport (Fernbf) and continue with the VRR SKYTR to airport terminal
