The location The 2 non-smoking-apartments (with 4 rooms up to 10 persons) lies in two adjacent houses in the former Officers quarters in the formerly French occupied region of Berlin, the former Cité Guynemer - that is why the streets are named in French still. Berlin Tegel airport is near but can hardly be noticed from here, as the runway lies well south of the quarters, and noise and pollution are carried away by the wind. The Flats are situated in a quiet surrounding, with lots of greenery and without any through-traffic. Still it's not far away from the two centers of our city: • for downtown-east (Berlin-Mitte) you will need about 20 min, but as parking in Berlin can be quite expensive we would rather suggest a ride with the Berliner underground (U-Bahn). • for downtown-west (Ku'damm/ Europacenter) it’s about 15 min by car and will take only little more time by using the U-Bahn as well. For details concerning public-Traffic click here: Traffic Appartement and Guestroom The guests rooms are clean and simple and equipped with large closets. Both hosts speak fluent German and English, the hostess in house 2 also speaks French and Arabic. Smoking on the balcony is allowed in both apartments. Environments and surroundings The flats are situated in one of Berlins green areas. In an 8 to 10 min walk you will arrive at 'Flughafensee', a little lake dear to the Berliners. This is where the 'Tegeler forst' begins, one of the City´s forests. Indeed, Berlin is a green metropolis, one of the greenest in Europe.
