Location of the private room

The apartment lies in Crellestrasse, one of the prettiest and most-loved streets in Schöneberg. It is a playing street at a cul-de-sac, ensuring very little traffic. It is only a stone’s throw away from the beloved Kaiser-Wilhelm-Platz and the trendy Akazienstrasse. That’s where you’ll find many shops as well as many multi-cultural and culinary spots. The travel connections are excellent (U7 Kleistpark, S1 Julius-Leber Brücke, M85, M48, 187, 204, 104, 106 Kaiser-Wilhelm-Platz). Despite its central location, the street is extremely quiet.

In just a half an hour you can reach Ku'damm or in 40 mins., Alexanderplatz. The town hall of Schöneberg, where Kennedy held his famous speech "Ich-bin-ein-Berliner" is a 12 min. walk away. The popular Bergmannstrasse in Kreuzberg is just a few stations with the U-Bahn away, and the Volkspark is a 10 min. walk. The long-distance train station Südkreuz can also be reached on foot, 2 bus lines (106 & 204) that go there, stop directly at Kaiser-Wilhelm-Platz. The U7 is about 3 mins away and will take you directly to Flughafen (Airport) Schönefeld. The S1 Julius-Leber-Brücke will take you to Brandenburger Tor in 13 mins and to Friedrichstrasse in 15 mins.

Description of the private room

The non-smoking apartment lies on the 1st floor, has 3 big rooms and is simply decorated. Two of the rooms are typical Berlin connecting rooms. This is a maisonette apartment, meaning that the hosts room and bathroom lie slightly lower than the rest of the apartment, just below a few steps. This makes the apartment unsuitable for the disabled.

The private room (normally used as a meditation room) is very quiet and faces out to the courtyard. It has 2 big windows and is decently furnished. The big couch can be easily changed into a double bed. These are made out of foam and are very comfortable to lie on. The room has a side board and free wireless internet.

It is important for you to know that the bathroom is shared with the host and is located behind her bedroom. You have to pass through her bedroom to get to the bathroom. It doesn’t bother her if guests pass through her bedroom during the day or at night and would be happy to have guests that accept this without any hassles. The bathroom has a bath that can be gladly used.

The kitchen is practically the 2nd living room and can be completely used by the guests. Cooking is done on a gas cooker and a dishwasher is available. Use of the washing machine is allowed.

The living room has a dining corner that can be used. The hostess is a writer and this is also where she spends a lot of time working in front of the computer.

A furnace heats the apartment in winter and it’s best to bring along warm socks or house shoes to keep your feet cozy. Bed linen and towels are supplied.

Three cats live in the apartment, so unfortunately, you cannot bring along a pet dog.

About your hostess:

I am a writer and work mostly in the graphics area on my computer. My apartment is very artistically decorated. I have an unconventional household and am an easy-going and friendly person. I work a lot at home, where I normally get up between 8 and 9 to begin my day. I’m not really a breakfast person as I prefer my evening meal, but I will gladly enjoy a cup of tea and a chat in the mornings. Guests can freely prepare their breakfast and can gladly use the kitchen, the fridge etc. I can speak German, English and a bit of French and can‘t wait to meet women and couples from around the world.

About the 3 female cats: Lotti, Euphra and Tigris are also a part of this living community. They are normal, loving house cats that are used to guests. Lotti, the oldest can sometimes be moody, but generally, all 3 simply hang lazily around. When they begin to play a bit more roughly, don’t worry, it’s all part of our daily routine.

Parking

The parking situation is a bit difficult. During business hours during the week and on Friday and Saturday nights there is a high turnover, but it can happen at night during the week that you have to park further away. Since it costs no parking fees, it is advisable to park the car and explore the city with the BVG.
